From your phone's dialpad, enter *#06# and your 15 digit IMEI should appear. If it does not appear this indicates that you do not have a GSM phone. Our service is designed to remote unlock only GSM devices.
Can I use my Verizon or Sprint iPhone 4S with T-Mobile or Simple-Mobile?
It is possible, however we don't recommend it due to the stories we've experienced and heard. Release My Code does not offer remote unlocking service on these devices. You will need to use a SIM card modification tool found here: www.gevey.com

Can’t I just get this code from my carrier for free?
The short answer is yes. But that is contingent on a few factors... Your contract is complete, your carrier does not try to save the sale, the moon and stars are lined up perfect, and many other hurdles. Also, in our experience it has taken customers many days to receive their unlock code from their carrier.
Do I have to unlock my phone every time I want to switch providers or update my phone?
No. Once your phone is unlocked you may use any SIM card world-wide or update your phone at anytime.
Do I need to unlock my T-Mobile phone for a Simple-Mobile?
Generally, T-mobile phones do not need to be unlocked to work with a Simple Mobile SIM card. Simple Mobile are MVNO's of T-mobile and use T-Mobile's network.

You can find your 15 digit IMEI by dialing *#06# into your phone. Another method is going into your “phone information” in options.
How do I know if my phone is unlocked or not?
Good question. The simplest way is to put your new SIM card into the phone and see if it works. If the phone pulls service without asking for a code, then it is unlocked. Most models will give you an error stating the device is locked.

I see multiple charges on my credit / debit card.
If you have multiple attempts to complete your transaction, your online banking statement may make it appear that you sent us multiple payments. However, your bank is actually holding the funds as an incomplete transaction for each attempt. This is a policy that your bank has and those funds never reach us. I unlocked my iPhone, put in my new SIM card and it says “NO SERVICE” what should I do now?
After you unlock an iPhone and insert a new SIM card it could take up to 5 minutes for the new SIM to pull service. This provisioning only happens the first time a new SIM is used.
I’m unlocking my iPhone. When do I put my T-Mobile or Simple Mobile Sim card into the iPhone?
Please insert the the new SIM card into the iPhone just before you RESTORE from backup file. Remember, first BACK UP your iPhone in iTunes to save a copy of your phone memory. Restoring without first backing up will cause you to lose your contacts, pictures, notes, messages, etc.
If I unlock my AT&T iPhone 4 for T-Mobile or Simple Mobile can I use it back on AT&T later if I choose?
Yes. You can always use your iPhone on AT&T or any carrier once unlocked.

Should I remove my old Sim card during the unlocking process?
Any phone other than an iPhone needs a locked sim (the new sim card you want to use) in order to type in your unlock code. You should have received detailed instructions within an email we sent you during the unlocking process. If you cannot find this email, please search for your model on our homepage and look in the unlock instructions for that model on that product page. An iPhone simply needs the new sim card and follow the required steps of "back up" and "restore" through iTunes. This can be done by highlighting the device name and pressing (CTRL + mouse click) on an apple computer or from a Windows computer right click on mouse when highlighting the device name inside iTunes.
